Peningkatan Pengetahuan dan Keterampilan Perhitungan Kebutuhan Kalori dan Penyusunan Menu Makan Gizi Seimbang sebagai Upaya Pencegahan Penyakit Degeneratif
Abstract
Degenerative disease is a condition that occurs due to a decrease in the function of a tissue or organ. Regulation of daily calorie needs is a supporting factor for the occurrence of degenerative diseases. Lack of public knowledge related to dietary regulation is the main cause of degenerative disease cases in Indonesia is still high. The purpose of this educational activity is to determine the influence of counseling in increasing knowledge and skills related to proper dietary arrangements to prevent degenerative diseases in Semarang City health cadres. Method: provide education about calorie management and knowledge evaluation with pre and post-test. The target in this activity was PKK cadres totaling 33 women and was carried out in the city of Semarang. Question sheets were given before and after health education and then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test with p<0.05. No significant difference was found in the number of correct answers in the pre-test and post-test sessions with a value of p>0.05 (p=0.109), but the average number of correct answers in the post-test session (28.6 ± 5.1) was higher than the pre-test session (21.6±12.9). Counseling and mentoring activities are known to still be able to increase participants' knowledge because they found improvements in post-test scores after being given interventions in the form of education about regulating the composition of diet and exercise as an effort to prevent degenerative diseases.
