Abstract

Problems that occur in some terminal cases are not only experienced by patients and families. A special approach is needed for this type of disease. Palliative is a condition of illness that is chronic and near death. Palliative diseases usually have a poor prognosis. The course of the disease and the impact of treatment affect the patient and family. To improve services, it is necessary to increase nurses' knowledge in managing nursing care for palliative patients. The descriptive approach method explains the implementation of palliative nursing care management training activities for 32 nurses. Efforts made by providing training resulted in an increase in nurses' knowledge and skills, one of which was shown by an increase in post test scores of 0.6% and the results of observations by nurses were able to carry out palliative screening in an effort to carry out early detection of palliative diseases. There is a need for similar training activities to improve the quality of palliative care services
