Abstract
The risk of falling is a fall if the fall occurs when the body's postural control system fails to detect the shift and does not reposition the center of gravity against the body's support in a timely manner. The incidence of falls in the elderly living in the community increased from 25% at the age of 70 years to 35% after the age of 75 years. One of the causes of falls is impaired gait. This community service aims to provide and increase understanding of the elderly community in Ngranggonanyar Village regarding balance exercises to prevent the risk of falling. The method used is to carry out a balance check in the form of a Time Up and Go Test as a data source for providing interventions, then counseling is carried out regarding the interventions provided. Conclusions Counseling goes well and is easy for the elderly to understand. After being given material regarding the definitions, benefits, and dosages of the Otago Exercise Program. Counseling activities resulted in 100% knowledge of the elderly regarding how to prevent the risk of falling with balance exercises.
