Restrictive lung disease is a disorder in the parenchym, pleura, thorax or neuromuscular walls of the lungs characterized by a decrease in total lung capacity due to reduced lung distensibility. Obstructive lung disease is characterized by increased flow resistance due to partial or entire respiratory tract obstruction from the trachea to the terminalis bronchiolus. This study method is a review of the literature. The literature was selected using the clinical study method in the form of case report, literature review, systematic literature, and meta-analysis. Symptoms and early signs of both diseases were found to be somewhat common, such as shortness of breath, cough, cyanosis, respiratory muscle retraction, snoring, fever and others. Early detection is necessary to recognize the differences between symptoms and signs, establish the diagnosis and proper implementation.
