The Role of Leadership in Encouraging Innovation and Team Performance in Community Health Centers: A Case Study of Kedungtuban Community Health Center, Blora
Abstract
Innovation and high team performance are key factors in improving the quality of health services in community health centers. Effective leadership plays an important role in creating an environment that supports innovation and encourages team performance. This study aims to analyze the role of leadership in encouraging innovation and team performance at the Kedungtuban Blora Community Health Center. This study uses a qualitative case study approach using in-depth interview methods, observation, and document analysis. Participants in this study included the head of the community health center, head of the room, health workers, and support staff at the Kedungtuban Blora Community Health Center. The results of the study indicate that leadership at the Kedungtuban Blora Community Health Center has a significant role in encouraging innovation and team performance. Several influential leadership factors include open communication, delegation and empowerment, rewards and recognition, training facilitation, and freedom to innovate. However, there are several gaps between ideal conditions and current leadership practices. This study provides practical recommendations for community health center leaders in implementing leadership styles that support innovation and team performance, such as increasing open communication, delegating authority, building an effective reward system, facilitating training, and creating a safe environment for innovation. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the development of leadership in community health centers and improve the quality of health services to the community.
